today lesson broke down

first half : was an exercise for my contextual studies. we have been reading a book called 'practice of looking'. each week as a class read a section of the book and then do a questionnaire on what we have learnt. today we looked at the meanings of


  • central tention in a camera generated images
  • what is positivism
  • what is the myth of photographic truth 
  • what is the meaning empirical, information document and an expressive vehicle 
  • what the difference between 'denotation and connotation'
  • what is the word myth defined by Barthes
  • what are ideologies and how can imagery effect ideology
afternoon session

as a class we looked at the difference between a creative CV and a formal CV. then we was given a task to see how we would design/make our own what we should put in it.

tried looking into one of my idea generations. i have looked at the immigration board to see minor information on Australia and there values

Was approached my a group of people to design a up coming night at a venue called 256 fallowfield. The theme around music festivals. The event is called 'fallowfest' raising money for the rainbow trust children's charity.

They wanted a poster and flyer to promote the night. Giving me a brief description of what they wanted. This what I and up with.

today we were briefed on what my next assignment will be. my tutor asked us to quickly look at what the brief was asking of us and find a subject to work work that shows different design directions to help our portfolio and help board my mind with experimentations

we sat as a group and discussed are ideas individually:

this unit gives me the chance to create a piece of work following either a self written brief or taking advantage of a commercial opportunity brought into the studio. showing my abilities to plan and self manage and project, understanding the design cycle in a manner that will produce clear results. prepare artwork to a commercial standard, support design direction with study into related specialist subject topics, demonstrate imaginative thinking and produce working solutions with clear rationale.
